A place to relax
If you’re looking for self catering in Wester Ross, may we recommend Ceol na Mara? It’s a self-catering chalet located in the crofting hamlet of Aultgrishan, next to Melvaig, a (relatively) easy walk to Rua Reidh Lighthouse and a 20-minute drive from Gairloch in the northwest Highlands of Scotland.
The chalet sits perched above the sea. The (pebble) beach is a minute’s walk away, and is a great place to spot minke whales, basking sharks, dolphins, seals and all manner of seabirds. Given its location about eight miles from Gairloch on the beautiful, rugged coast of Wester Ross, it makes the ideal base for walking, climbing, wildlife spotting, eating, drinking, relaxing and sunset watching. The North Coast 500 route passes through Gairloch, so Ceol na Mara makes an ideal place to stop off for a few days.
Please have a look around to see what we’ve got to offer, what the area’s got to offer, where to wine and dine, the chalet’s availability, and how to get here. If you have any questions or would like to make a booking, please contact us!
There’s a webcam upstairs in the house adjoining the chalet. Here’s what the view looked like about a minute ago. (If it’s dark, you won’t see much: the only streetlights you can see from the chalet are in Stornoway, on Lewis.)
Please note that Ceol na Mara does not accept pets.
